Thailand is a country with many attractions and it’s never a place that’s lacking a good day out. It’s history had included the two old capital cities of Ayuthaya and Sukhothai which have left many historical ruins and temples, and modern day Bangkok also has some excellent temples and national heritage buildings as well.
Thailand's main attractions include some beautiful national parks, the most popular being the mountainous Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Rai, Phang Nga Bay National Park, the area where part of the famous James Bond film ' The Man with a Golden Gun' was filmed, and Khao Yai National Park, not far from the capital of Bangkok and the oldest park in Thailand with one of the largest areas of rainforest in Asia.
Amongst Thailand's best attractions are the art galleries and museums, a must visit for all culture vultures visiting the Kingdom, these are mainly located in Bangkok and the surrounding areas.
Many theme park, zoo and aquarium attractions have been opened in recent years, not only in Bangkok but in the main tourist areas of Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. Chiang Mai’s main zoo attraction in recent years has been the Giant Pandas which they hope will start breeding soon. There are always animal attractions to be seen in Thailand most noticeably snake, elephant and crocodile shows, though in Kanchanaburi, you can have a very up close and personal experience with Thailand's largest big cats at the Tiger Temple. |
