Pattaya > Shops and Shopping Pattaya Shops and Shopping
Shopping in Pattaya is a mixture of air conditioned plazas and street stalls. At the street stalls and in the main tourist areas you will find the usual tourist shopping products, handicrafts, silks, counterfeit branded goods and beachwear amongst them. Pattaya has two main shopping plazas, the Royal Garden Plaza and Central Festival plaza that also deal in much the same goods and cater for the tourist crowds, though quality and prices may be slightly higher at these places.
Pattaya has a number of markets, the largest of them being the Theprasit market and Night square, both open until late at night and again selling a wide range of cheap goods. If you wish to travel further a field for handicrafts and Thailand souvenirs you can visit either Pattaya’s Nong Mon market or the Basketware Village, both a short distance out of town.
For residents and longer term visitors to Pattaya there is Mikes Shopping Mall and the Friendship mall which sell a range of household goods including groceries and food. For more food shopping Pattaya provides the larger supermarket chains, Lotus Tesco, Tops, Carrefour and Big C. Comcity is a small plaza that will provide you with mobiles phones, computers, software, games and accessories similar to Pantip Plaza in Bangkok. |
