Soi Bintabaht and Around
The main tourist and expat nightlife area in Hua Hin is in the streets around the Hilton hotel area. A block of streets starting with the busiest Soi Bintabaht, Poon Suk Road, Soi Selakam and Nares Damri Road are where most of the bars and Hua Hin nightlife is at. Whilst many of these bars are 'girly bars' (it's obvious which are and which aren't), it's quite possible to just have a drink and a game of pool in them. Soi Bintabaht is pretty much wall to wall bars of the 'girly' variety but don't let that put you off. Hua Hin is no Pattaya, there are no Go Go bars in Hua Hin and the bars on and around Soi Bintabaht are alot more pleasent and low key than other tourist destinations in Thailand.
The Hilton has a bar and restaurant called the Hua Hin Brewing Company where you can get steak and bbq dinners accompanied with some beer brewed onsite. The Hua Hin Brewing Company becomes the Hua Hin Hilton disco with live band and DJ sets, and though it's expensive and the band plays the same covers every night, this place is ok for a change. The Hua Hin Hilton Disco is open til 2am. Girls and guys looking for a little more fun and entertainment than can be found in the bars will move on to the Hilton from 12ish onwards then on to the karaoke bars at 2am, just a short stagger up the road.
The Hua Hin late night bar area is known as 'the karaoke' just up the road from the Hilton toward the Beach Road. Hidden away behind Nares Damri Road the entrance is to the right side of Mai Tai Bar up a few steps from the road and up and around to the right behind the bars. Gone are the days of the old smoky karaoke bars as a few of these are now quite big and plush, more nightclub or higher end bar like than karaoke. These bars can be open till the wee small hours of the morning but as usual all depends on the local plod and the amount of customers.
Soi Bintabaht by day - Hua Hin Nightlife
The two night-markets (one in front of the Grand Plaza hotel, the other just to the north of the town centre) have some nightlife in and around them. The Grand Night Marktet has a nice bar called Jazz Berry Bar at the far back right of the market. The restaurants at the Hua Hin Night Market are good for a drink and a people watch.
Soi Sarawat and Railway Track Road
Soi Sarawat (Soi 80) from the Phetkasem road all the way to the Thannon Rod Fai Road (Railway Track Road) has many bars catering mainly to foreign Hua Hin residents. These bars are generally cheaper than their Soi Bintabaht counterparts and have some good happy hour offers on beers. There are also plenty of bars / restaurants on the Thannon Lod Fai Road running along the beach-side of the train tracks. A new plaza has also recently opened near to the Railway Station that has a few bars and a bar / restaurant that has live music and kebabs (hmmmmm kebabs).
