Located on the other side of Khao Takieb about 8km south of Hua Hin town is Suan Son Pradipat beach meaning Sea Pine Tree Garden Beach. Much quieter than it's neighbour Hua Hin beach but not without it's own charms. The beach and the adjoining land is owned by the Thai Army Welfare Office.
At the north end of Suan Son Pradipat beach nearest Khao Takieb there are many beach restaurants and a few hotels such as the Anantasila Hua Hin hotel. Here you can rent sunloungers or deckchairs shaded by beach umbrellas. You can also rent Jet Ski's, play on banana boats or go for a horse ride.Further south on the beach on the land owned by the Thai Military there is a large hotel and some bungalows available for rent originally only for use by military personel and their families but they are now available to the public. There is also a restaurant on the beach and deck chairs, tables and unbrellas for rent. This part of the beach is popular with Thai people on the weekends.
Suan Son Beach is over 6km long stretching all the way from Khao Takieb to Khao Tao (Turtle Hill). The beach hasn't the soft white sand as Hua Hin beach but it is never busy and most of the beach is lined with sea pine trees and is mostly free from developments and hotels. The water is shallow and you can walk far out from the beach into the ocean before reaching any depth, ideal for children to play in.
In 2009 construction of a golf course adjacent Suan Son Beach beach was started which has since been completed.
