As can be found out on our Khao Takiab village page 'Khao Takiab is in fact a moo baan (village) in the south of Amphur (district) of Hua Hin. Khao Takiab hill separates the two beaches of Hua Hin beach and Suan Son Pradipat beach. Both the immediate areas of beaches either side of the Khao Takiab hill can be known as 'Khao Takiab beach' depending oin who you ask. Two beaches same name. Well now that's explained we will begin with the real Khao Takiab beach at the south end of Hua hin Beach.

Khao Takiab Beach (South end of Hua Hin Beach)
This Khao Takiab beach is actually located in the village of Khao Takiab. There are a few hotels and beach restaurants. The seafood restaurants are especially good due to Khao Takiab being a fishing village, where many local fishing boats are moored in the harbour next to Khao Takiab hill. There is a nice sea food restaurant on the beach at the foot of Khao Takiab with tables and chairs on the sand.
A golden 20 meter tall Bhuddha statue can be seen on the side of Khao Takiab hill from the beach at the foot of Khao Takiab and can be seen from far away.
At low tide the beach at Khao Takiab is almost 100m wide. It is quieter than the Hilton / Sofitel Hua Hin beach and has less in the way of restaurants and vendors but has plenty of sunloungers for rent and bars / restaurants offering refreshments.
This Khao Takiab beach is over 5km from the Sofitel entrance to Hua Hin beach and it is a nice (but long) walk along the beach from the Sofitel to the end at Khao Takiab. If your not up for walking 5km getting there by road is easy and parking next to beach is available. Follow the Phetchkasem Road south from Hua Hua town center. At the end continue straight at the turning right for the fly over onto Hua Hin Soi 87. Follow this road though Khao Takiab village until the road is divided by a garden with a Khao Takiab sign*. From here go straight on down a small soi which will take you to some sea food restaurants and Khao Takiab beach. Continue up this road to get to Khao Takiab Temple. You can also catch a green songthaew bus which terminates where the road divides and walk from there. Check out our google map below.
The Other Khao Takiab Beach
This Khao Takiab beach (known by locals as Hua Don Beach since it is in fact in Moo Baan Hua Don and not Khao Takiab) is on the other side of chopstick hill at the north end of Suan Son Pradipat beach. Some method of transportation is required to get here. Follow the same directions above (to the *) but where the road divides go right and over a small bridge and stright on to Soi's Takiab Bay 1, 3 and 5 all of which go down to Khao Takiab beach.
There are plenty of restaurants and places to wile away a nice day on Khao Takiab beach. Restaurants with tables and deck chairs and sun loungers are in plentiful supply here. The food is good and it has a more relaxing, laid back kinda vibe to the beach here.
The beach itself here is not as picturesque as Hua Hin. The sand is darker and mostly flattened and hard but the water is shallow and there are no rocks.
Fancy some water sports? Khao Takiab beach is also home to 'Hua Hin Watersports Center', who have just about every type of water ride available for your extreme fun. Their 'Ultimate Watersports package' includes Jet Skiing, Water Skiing, Doughnut, Banana Boat and an Island Trip.
