In Bangkok you can go shopping for goods that have been brought in from every part of Thailand as well as the neighbouring countries and though a little more expensive than the areas where the goods come from you will find many bargains.

Bangkok also excels the rest of the country by offering the goods that you cannot shop for elsewhere, the high end luxury items and products that only serve the Bangkok consumer market. Bangkok has everything from night markets for bargain hunters to high end malls selling these season’s designer styles from the luxury European brand names.

For the markets, Chatajuk and Chinatown are famous though you will find a number of other markets to shop in both day and night spread amongst the city. Top designer brand shops and boutiques are also opening new branches here not only benefitting from the Thai people's increasing wealth since Thailand's economic crash in 1997 but from the millions of tourists that pass through Bangkok every year.

Bangkok shopping is an excellent experience whether you are searching through the air conditioned malls for designer bargains or in the heat on the street haggling for those knick knack presents to take back home for presents.
