    Bangkok Attractions and Sightseeing

Bangkok has many attractions including many temples and historical buildings, most noteworthy being Wat Arun, The Grand Palace, Vimanmek Teak Mansion, Wat Phra Kasew that houses the Emerald Buddha and Wat Pho with Thailand's largest reclining Buddha. The National Gallery is an excellent day out and it is not the only art gallery in Bangkok, which has art from all over Asia on display at various galleries throughout the city.

One of the most popular animal attractions in Bangkok is located just outside of the city and is probably one of the largest crocodile farms in the world. The Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo has daily shows including crocodile wrestling, elephant acrobatics and a monkey playground.

Whilst in the location of Samut Prakan an attraction worth visiting is the world’s largest museum Ancient City, a mini scale model of Thailand that shows mini versions of all the historical buildings and temples of the country. Bangkok is home to museums covering everything from Thailand’s history, art, science, anthropology, rare stones, dolls and for those with a stronger stomach, the gruesome forensic museum at Siriraj Hospital.

For a more educational day out Bangkok has an excellent planetarium and for those with kids who just want to take them for a day of fun and rides there is Dream World, a popular theme park on the outskirts of the city.
